Events sponsored by organizations
such as the Music Teachers Association and the American String
Teachers Association are available to eligible students.
Calendar
MTA
Inland Empire Piano Festival,
Held in February at Cal State San Bernardino. Piano students
compete in their own age group. Each year the
required repertoire alternates through the different musical periods. Trophies
and cash prizes will be awarded.
MTA
Certificate of Merit,
Held each year in March at Cal State San Bernardino. This program requires
theory, sight-reading, and ear training exams, and performances for students of
all levels through high school. Certificates and performances
will be awarded.
MTA
Southern California Jr. Bach Festival,
Held in April of each year in San Bernardino. Students of
all levels perform the works of J.S. Bach in a competitive setting. Winners
perform at the regional festival.
Redlands
Bowl Young Artists Auditions,
Held each year in May at University of Redlands, Watchorn Hall. Junior
and Senior Categories, Piano, Voice, and Instrumental. Winners
receive monetary awards and the opportunity to perform on the
Redlands Bowl stage in recital. For more information contact

Cypress
College Piano Competition,
Held each year in May at Cypress College. Piano students
compete in their own age group. Each year the
required repertoire alternates through the different musical
periods. Trophies and cash prizes will
be awarded.
